Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • Safety training & maintenance of database training records
  • Document work site safety inspections
  • DOT/FMCSA Certifications/Knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to travel within the Baltimore area
  • Must be able to deal with MOSH & OSHA inspectors on a as needed basis
  • Able to walk long distances through & on work sites.
  • Working with insurance companies, lawyers, worker's comp and incident investigation on claims.
  • Be able to adapt to different issues & tasks as they arise.
  • Maintain a professional safety appearance. 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have their own reliable insured vehicle for transportation.
  • Will assist Director of Safety/Procurement & Fleet in any other areas needed.
  • PC skills including knowledge of excel, word & outlook programs, use & creation of databases to study statistics & trend analysis, ability to negotiate through tough situations and constantly maintain a professional image at all times, will be able to shut down jobs due to safety, able to use & adjust web formatted programs on GPS systems.
  • Downloading pictures onto PC 
  • Management skills desired.
  • Must be willing to work with people and have a superior customer service attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task is a must.
  • Team Player a must.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 4 - 8 years of experience required.
  • OSHA/Fleet/Risk Management/FMSCA certifications preferred
  • Safety and risk management experience in a civil engineeering background or comparable field is preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Performance Expectations

  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Attend monthly safety meetings
  • Attend monthly town hall meetings
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Meet monthly(or more frequently as necessary) with the Director of Safety & Procurement
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Work with Director of Safety & Procurement to manage our resources to achieve our goal
  • Ensure effective use of facilities, equipment and personnel
  • Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
  • Arrange employee safety training and maintain records (including CPR, First Aid)
  • Assist with OSHA registration
  • Conduct worksite safety visits with field employees
  • Distribute safety equipment to all offices for PPE as required
  • Issue and rescind photo ID badges
  • Prepare and submit annual safety record analysis
  • Purchase and manage safety supplies inventory and negotiate pricing with vendors
  • Arrange and track accident repairs and payments
  • Determine actions for quarterly Vehicle Safety Inspections as required and notify Practice Leaders
  • Distribute vehicle safety equipment to all offices as required
  • Maintain vehicle accident spreadsheet
  • Manage driver training program and maintain records
  • Manage vehicle GPS program and monitor website for all vehicles
  • Prepare and submit annual vehicle accident analysis
  • Provide at-the-scene guidance for vehicle accidents
  • Schedule all vehicle maintenance as required
