Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Job purpose

 

The Electrician/Technician will work under the direction of a Project Manager/Journeyman to lead and complete electrical work as assigned.

 

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of progressively responsible electrical experience, and be able to successfully install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, interact professional with customers, and partner with Project Manager.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Carry out verbal and written operating orders and instructions of the Project Manager/Journeyman
  • Complete all tasks in compliance with National Electric Code, and in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Service and install electrical equipment
  • Inspect and test components of electrical system
  • Install new or existing electrical systems
  • Monitor the performance of all equipment
  • Operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary
  • Reads and interprets operating orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches, etc.
  • Uses a computer to process work requests/work orders/maintenance information
  • Tracks material, labor and project status for reporting to Project Manager  • Some knowledge of AC/DC power• Working understanding of OSHA standards, company safety programs and policies relative to the installation and repair of electrical systems. • Conduit bending skills• Must be able to use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts • High school Diploma or GED. • Must be able to operate a company vehicle as required Working conditions

  • • Valid State Driver’s License, good driving record, and reliable personal transportation
  • • Experience using a computer to enter data and process work requests/orders
  • • Able to read operating orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches, etc.
  • • Some experience installing new or existing electrical systems
  • • Some knowledge of National Electric Code and best practices
  • • Commercial, industrial electrical work experience preferred
  • Qualifications
  •  
  • Physical work in indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Periodic overtime, evening and weekend work, shift work may be required to meet project requirements
  • Possible travel

 

Physical requirements

 

  • Pre-employment drug testing is required as a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds continually.
  • Must be able to work on a ladder all day.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting
  • Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week
  • Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
  • Understands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all times
  • Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided
  • Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in
  • Perform all task assignments using required industry standards
