Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI Technologies is currently seeking a skilled Master Electrician to join its Construction Services team in Maryland. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing both internal crews and subcontractors involved in EV charging and telecom projects, utilizing their expertise in the field to ensure the successful completion of all tasks.

  • Current Masters Electrician’s License in Maryland, Virginia, DC or ability to get reciprocity in these states.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Master Electrician
  • Opportunity to grow the market from the ground level
  • Able to manage and mentor Journeymen and Apprentices.
  • Mechanical aptitude is desired.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and customer specific safety standards
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and other industry standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors
  • Experience creating project estimates 
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete a job layout for projects of limited various scope and size
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to follow instructions, possess the ability to be trained, mentored, and have a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Installing equipment cabinets and cabling for telecom  and/or EV charging projects is preferred
  • Fiber optic or wireless communication experience is a plus
  • Analyze upcoming tasks and anticipate equipment, procedures, and training
  • Must be able to interact with our client project managers and resolve problems in the field.
  • Travel to job sites is required for this position

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of 5 - 9 years of experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

  • Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting
  • Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week
  • Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
  • Understands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all times
  • Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided
  • Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in
  • Perform all task assignments using required industry standards
  • Review all work assigned to you before beginning your work
  • Understand all applicable industry standards for your assigned tasks
  • Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goal
  • Has the specific knowledge to perform all duties
  • Maintains all required certifications and participates in training courses as required
  • Understands all applicable industry standards for project and performs all tasks per standards and client requirements
