Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI Technologies Diving Practice is hiring a Professional Engineer-Diver with a minimum of 5 years of experience in underwater inspections, commercial dive operations, and marine engineering projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at planning, directing, and monitoring marine engineering and diving projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct underwater inspections of various structures, including bridges, dams, piers, wharves, marinas, ports, bulkheads, and seawalls.
  • Perform condition inspections and quality control inspections for construction projects.
  • Engage in structural design and analysis of marine structures.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and oversee the plan development process from concept through final construction plans for new structures, rehabilitations, and repairs.
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface-supplied air diving.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering, design, analysis, and bridge condition inspection is highly desirable.
  • Experience with bridge, waterfront, and/or dam projects is preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Certification by the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) is required.
  • Professional Engineering License for the designated state is required.
  • National Highway Institute (NHI) Bridge Inspection certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time is a requirement of this position
  • TWIC card is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Appropriate graduate level work is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 9 years of professional experience.
