Duties, Responsibilities & Other

We are hiring a Site/Civil Project Manager to join our team in New York City.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Prepares proposals to provide professional services for engineering projects or programs; reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Understands all required project deliverables and permitting requirements for the project; informs ownership and design team members at outset of the project to ensure all deliverables are provided on time and on budget.
    • Leads coordination with New York City agencies – NYCDEP: Site Connection, SWPPP, Cross Connection, etc., NYCT/MTA, NYCDOT, NYCDOB, FDNY – to obtain relevant permit approvals
  • Functions as technical advisor on public and private site/civil projects including: parks/open space projects, utilities replacements, stormwater management, sidewalk replacements, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple disciplines (ie. Marine, Structural, Geotechnical, Survey, etc) to achieve project goals.
  • Supervises all assisting staff necessary to complete assignments including providing support and mentorship to junior staff throughout project design.
  • Assists senior management with tasks related to project financials (invoicing, AP, project budgets, etc)
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
  • Consistently monitors and achieves project financial goals.
  • Maintaining client relationships, serving as the point of contact for their projects, and developing opportunities for further work.

Position Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • PMP Certification a plus
  • Experience with permitting regulations in New York City as listed above
  • Minimum of two years managing projects
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and presentation experience preferred.
  • Able to thrive in a team-focused environment and engage in creative, critical thought; takes initiative and can function at a high level on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, HydroCAD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience. 
  • Appropriate professional certification preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
