As Technical Lead 8, you will play a critical part in both team dynamics and technical leadership. Your responsibilities encompass fostering a collaborative environment, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and driving project success.
Your key responsibilities include:
Technical Expertise:
• Maintain engineering competency and expertise within the field of expertise to be recognized as a technical lead by clients and peers.
• Serve as an internal resource and subject matter expert to staff and leadership.
• Coordinate between offices, Practices and staff and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure coordinated project fulfill ISO compliance requirements.
Client and Project Management:
• Assist Practice Leaders, Regional Practice Leaders, and Service Line Leaders in developing and maintaining client relationships by tracking
performance, identifying client needs and identifying the next project.
• Assist in WIP/AR Tracking.
• Provide project and client leads to leadership to grow the Service Line.
• Serve as Quality Manager on select projects.
• Serve Project Manager on select projects, which includes:
-Manage and deliver projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope.
-Meet monthly with clients to review project progress.
-Operate within corporate and project budget parameters.
-Prepare monthly progress reports and invoices for projects.
-Develop project specific safety plans.
-Ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations.
Proposal and Business Development:
• Assist in proposal preparation, preparing and attending presentations, and negotiating scope, schedule, and fee estimates for projects.
• Participate in and contribute to applicable internal and external business development meetings.
Budgeting and Performance:
• Assist in developing annual budgets for Regional Practices and Practices.
• Meet annual Performance Agreements targets.
• Achieve or exceed an individual utilization target.
Leadership and Representation:
• Represents KCI in one technical society and one community organization.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 8 years of related professional experience, or 12 years of
equivalent professional experience
• Proven track record of managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience in mentoring technical staff.
• Prior experience serving as a subject matter expert and providing technical guidance.
• Familiarity with ISO compliance requirements and quality management systems.
• Strong technical proficiency in the field in which they are a Technical Lead.
• Proficiency in relevant software/tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in developing solutions.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.
• Commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends and advancements.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
• Master’s Degree or any other advanced degree
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
• Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Training within six months of start date.
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:
• Professional license or certification within the field of expertise preferred.
