Duties, Responsibilities & Other

 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Project Manager to lead and manage the planning, design, and implementation of public works, utility, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. We are looking for a candidate with 10+ years of experience supporting projects with local utilities and agencies. 

  • Lead and manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop engineering reports, design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and system evaluations.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and public agencies.
  • Ensure quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) procedures are followed.
  • Monitor project performance, track progress, and prepare status reports.
  • Support business development efforts including proposal preparation and client relationship management.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting and leading utility, public works, and other civil projects
  • Active Texas PE registration
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
  • Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • Strong comprehension of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.


Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)


Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
