Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Assistant Controller

Job Description:

  • Responsible for financial controls and accurate financial reporting on a timely and consistent basis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Other duties include assisting management in interpreting and utilizing accounting information, overseeing compliance reporting for the corporation, overseeing audits, and also responsible for the daily accounting operation to support the financial reporting.

  • Prior experience in engineering consulting business is helpful with knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) reporting.

  • Microsoft Dynamics system experience a plus.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to meet all deadlines timely.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and related FASB pronouncements.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. CPA a plus.
  •  Minimum of 9 years’ experience with some experience as an Staff accountant preferred.
  •  Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) reporting/knowledge a plus
  •  Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
  •  A satisfactory background check is the absence of a criminal record, which bears a demonstrable relationship to the applicant/employee’s suitability to perform the required duties and responsibilities of the position.
