Duties, Responsibilities & Other

We are seeking a talented Entertainment / Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will play a dual role: providing technical expertise in the design and engineering of specialty structures, rigging systems, and mechanized systems within the entertainment industry, while also leading projects, managing teams, and supporting business development efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in structural engineering, coupled with experience in entertainment-related installations, specialty structures, and mechanized or rigging systems. Exposure to fabrication shops, temporary structures, and construction sites is a plus. Beyond technical capabilities, this role requires leadership in project delivery, mentoring, and client engagement.

 

Technical Design & Engineering

  • Perform structural and related engineering design and analysis for entertainment systems.

  • Provide engineering support for the design and fabrication of rigging and mechanized systems.

  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements.

  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and troubleshooting during design, installation, and construction phases.

  • Ensure all work complies with codes, standards, and safety requirements.

Project Management & Leadership

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including technical staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Develop and communicate project objectives, scope, schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.

  • Monitor project progress, proactively address risks, and maintain alignment with client expectations.

  • Oversee quality assurance and ensure adherence to industry best practices.

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, maintaining strong relationships and timely communication.

  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and drive successful outcomes.

Training, Development, & Compliance

  • Mentor and support the development of junior staff.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans.

  • Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 2 years of related professional experience, or 6 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
  • Possess potential leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • An understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Successful completion of the KCI PM Training and Contract Training within first 6 months of employment.
