Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

The CTO is the senior executive responsible for developing and implementing KCI’s technology strategy to ensure alignment with strategic goals to drive organizational innovation and growth. The position directs the opportunities and risks to establish KCI’s strategic vision. Provides leadership and advises all sectors and shared services leadership regarding technologies that may improve efficiency and effectiveness while supporting KCI’s culture, mission, and values.

  • Technology Strategy Development: directs the opportunities and risks to achieve KCI’s strategic vision; manages research and development, conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies to make determinations on probability of implementation; monitors and explores new technologies and methodologies, encouraging a culture of creativity and innovation
    • Identify, design, and implement technology solutions that automate and optimize internal business processes and project delivery
    • Lead the Digital Transformational Office (DTO), ensuring a focused, full-time effort on process innovation and technology enablement
  • Leadership and Management: leads Technology team, provides guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery, and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; inspires and motivates all levels of staff
    • Oversee the development and deployment of cost-effective tools and digital products that enhance project delivery and value
    • Drive change management and adoption for all technology initiatives
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:  communicates KCI’s technology strategies and innovations to leaders, management, and employees, translating complex technical concepts into business terms to gain support and alignment
  • Budget Management: manages the technology budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support KCI’s technology needs without overspending
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business or technology-related fields
  • 15+ years’ experience in technology
  • Experience with financing operations via Venture Capital
  • Strong written, oral communications skills
  • Technically credible
  • Able to build consensus, communicate the case for change and lead through influence
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check is a condition of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science/information systems
  • 20+ years’ experience in technology, engineering
  • Experience with raising outside funding for technology-based start-up
