Training, Development, and Compliance
Mentor and develop early-career engineers, supporting their technical growth and progression toward licensure.
Ensure all work complies with applicable standards including AASHTO, DOT, FHWA, and project-specific requirements.
Support QA/QC processes and adherence to KCI’s quality management systems.
Participate in performance feedback and career development discussions.
Engage in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, ACEC) and industry events to strengthen client relationships and market presence.
Assist in recruiting and attracting top bridge engineering talent.
Financial Management and Reporting
- Support the Project Manager in managing project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Deliver work within scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Monitor task-level budgets and support forecasting for ongoing work.
- Assist with change orders, scope adjustments, and design-build cost tracking.
- Contribute to achieving utilization and performance targets.
Project Execution and Technical Oversight
- Lead and perform structural design and analysis for bridges and related infrastructure (steel, concrete, prestressed, etc.).
- Develop design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with client and agency standards.
- Perform field reviews, site visits, and inspections to inform design and verify existing conditions.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals, particularly in design-build environments.
- Support construction-phase services, including responding to field issues and evaluating design modifications.
- Develop preliminary and final designs, including alternatives analysis and value engineering.
- Interpret and apply technical documents, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
