Duties, Responsibilities & Other

This is a field based position located near Columbus, NM.

Are you looking to start a hands-on career in field technology? We're hiring an Entry Level Field Technician to join our team installing security infrastructure and pole-mounted equipment.  We're looking for reliable, mechanically-minded individuals who are ready to learn a trade from the ground up (literally, from up to 40 feet in the air). You'll work as part of a two-person crew, building, mounting, and configuring cameras, Wi-Fi equipment, and communications hardware on utility poles — all while following strict safety, quality, and industry standards.

What You'll Do

  • Work alongside a lead technician to build, mount, and configure security infrastructure and pole-attached equipment
  • Perform cable routing, termination, labeling, and equipment connections
  • Install cameras, wireless equipment, infrared illuminator sensors, communications devices, brackets, enclosures, and related hardware
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, bucket truck lift, and other installation equipment
  • Make basic electrical and low-voltage connections
  • Help troubleshoot equipment, connectivity, power, and installation issues
  • Inspect completed installations for proper alignment, functionality, and workmanship
  • Read and follow installation drawings, work orders, site plans, and technical documentation
  • Keep accurate installation records, photos, and service documentation
  • Follow OSHA, company, utility, and job-site safety requirements at all times
  • Maintain your tools, vehicle, and equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Comfort working outdoors and at heights
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • 0–2 years in general construction, telecom, low-voltage, security systems, electrical, or utility work
  • Basic understanding of fabrication, construction, or assembly

This is an active, outdoor field position. You'll work in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, and around active construction and communications infrastructure — including operating from a bucket truck up to 40 feet high. Expect to be on your feet, lifting and carrying equipment throughout the day.

We provide PPE (hard hats, safety vests, gloves, ear protection). You'll need to supply your own protective footwear and appropriate work attire.
